Lloyd's List offers a full‐time, permanent role for Deputy Editor – APAC, working in an editorial team that spans the world and reporting to the APAC Editor. Role Profile Develop Lloyd's List's maritime expertise in Asia Help set the agenda for Lloyd's List's coverage of international shipping through daily insight, features and analysis Work closely with the APAC Editor and Editor in Chief to create and develop high‐quality, primarily data‐led analysis to the high standards of Lloyd's List's editorial guidelines Raise the profile of Lloyd's List Intelligence through representation at events and conferences Work in a balanced model between home and the office in Singapore Key Responsibilities Lead the strategy, planning and creation of daily insight and analysis, special reports, webinars, podcasts and other content formats with the APAC Editor and Editor in Chief Act as subject‐matter expert and present authoritatively at Lloyd's List events, conferences, client briefings and internal meetings Create original content for Lloyd's List channels, focused on the maritime sector in Asia Manage and guide a local editorial team Use data, analytics and visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau or Power BI) to draw insights and communicate findings Edit, proofread and ensure legal and ethical compliance to maintain Lloyd's List's high journalistic and stylistic standards Deputise for the APAC Editor and make editorial decisions as required Collaborate with other departments to support the commercial success of Lloyd's List Intelligence Support events on the editorial calendar and manage social media channels when required Attend local and international news conferences, industry events, webinars and conference calls as needed Develop and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders What we are looking for Minimum of three years' experience in senior level reporting Interest in the shipping industry and how today's geopolitical landscape is reshaping global trade Strong analytical skills: collecting, validating, managing and analysing data from various primary and secondary sources Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks daily and meet tight deadlines Proficiency with Content Management Systems High proficiency in written and verbal English Strong knowledge of media law Team‐player and problem‐solver who works collaboratively across the organisation Advanced communication skills to engage with colleagues and industry C‐suite executives Proficiency in MS Office suite including Word, PowerPoint and Excel Digital editing and production skills including data visualisations, audio and video Familiarity with data handling tools such as SQL or Python Existing, broad network of industry contacts We know that the "perfect candidate" doesn't exist, and that people can be put off applying if they don't fit all the requirements.
