Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Marine Underwriter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing risks and exposures for assessment of risk quality and insurance coverage, including pricing of risks and other related requirements.

  • Analyze risks and its exposures for assessment of risk quality and insurance coverage.
  • Identify and develop new sources of business.
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines in the underwriting of Marine business.
  • Take on other assigned roles and responsibilities relevant to reinsurance business.
  • Conduct research on trends of reinsurance markets and participate in developing business strategies.
  • Ensure proper administration of Marine business transacted, including follow-up actions for endorsement, registration in IT system, and reporting.
  • Provide advice on claims matters.
  • Cooperate with other teams in the pursuit of company targets.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry as a Marine Underwriter.
  • Work experience with regional responsibilities and good knowledge of markets.
  • Underwriting experience and market knowledge of Treaty Business is an advantage.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with good negotiation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, approachable, and a good team player.
  • ACII/FCII or equivalent would be an advantage.
