Newcastle University in Singapore has been delivering high quality degrees in Singapore since 2009 and have graduated more than 4,000 students at UG, PGT and PGR level. We deliver jointly awarded undergraduate Newcastle University degrees with the Singapore Institute of Technology in electrical power engineering, naval architecture and marine engineering, and mechanical design and manufacturing engineering.
At Newcastle Research and Innovation Institute , we provide postgraduate research training and work closely with industry partners in the delivery of our research degrees (PhD, MPhil), as well as delivering continuous professional development for our industry partners. The interview (including a power-point presentation on your research and teaching methodology) will take place in Singapore or via videoconference for candidate currently based overseas.
Successful candidates will be appointed to a fixed term contract of 3 years in the first instance, with opportunities to be made open ended.
The role
The posts present opportunities to join the engineering academic cluster of Newcastle University in Singapore, becoming valued members of our highly regarded Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering team, which links into our internationally renowned Naval Architecture Marine Engineering and Offshore Engineering in NUiS, Singapore and Marine, Offshore and Subsea Technology (MOST) group and School of Engineering in the UK. Our Engineering cluster group has a broad base of expertise from a wide range of engineering and scientific backgrounds.
We are seeking to appoint two Assistant Professors, one in Naval Architecture and another in Marine Engineering .
For Marine Engineering candidates, we are seeking applicants whose teaching capability and research interests include:

• Maritime decarbonisation, renewables & new energy and shipping sustainability

• Digitalisation and AI in marine technology
