Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Overview We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in both on-premise and AWS cloud environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure systems across hybrid environments—spanning on-premise data centres and AWS Cloud. This role requires close collaboration with technical architecture, security, and network teams, as well as coordination with third-party vendors to ensure smooth deployment, integration, and operational reliability of infrastructure components. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure (On-Premise and AWS Cloud)Assess, design, install, and configure infrastructure across on-premise and AWS environments. Conduct site surveys for all on-premises Public Transport Operator data centres, project data centres, project offices, and designated Tier 2 systems, in consultation with relevant stakeholders and third-party vendors. Develop Detailed Site Deployment Design documents for each site, specifying installation plans, networking requirements, rack space, and electrical needs. Coordinate with contracted hardware providers and the Project Project Manager to plan and schedule hardware deliveries (physical appliances, servers, and workstations). Contribute to the Observability Design (Dynatrace SaaS) in collaboration with Technical Architecture and Security teams to document monitoring and SNMP trap configurations for deployed infrastructure. Collaborate with technical teams to install and configure required software on physical and cloud-based infrastructure components. Manage infrastructure transition activities from previous suppliers, ensuring service continuity and compliance. Oversee infrastructure operations such as firewall configuration, user access management, key and certificate management, patching, and adherence to security standards. Network Configuration Design detailed AWS Network Traffic Routing between all VPCs in collaboration with the Project Network Team. Develop On-Premises Network Traffic Routing Designs to integrate AWS VPCs with data centres, project offices, and designated Tier 2 systems. Create detailed External Link Landing Zone (LLZ) Infrastructure Designs in collaboration with the Project Network, AWS, and MPLS provider teams. Integrate network observability by configuring monitoring and SNMP traps for critical network components (e.g., External LLZ NVA, Trusted/Untrusted LLZ, Inspection VPC NGFW) into the Dynatrace SaaS platform. Implement and validate AWS Network Traffic Routing Designs to support both North-South and East-West integrations. Conduct end-to-end testing to verify network routes between defined source and destination endpoints. Implement and test On-Premises Network Traffic Routing Designs to ensure seamless hybrid connectivity and system integrations. Collaborate closely with the Project Network, AWS, and MPLS teams during the setup and testing of telecommunications, MPLS, and AWS Direct Connect. Implement the External Link Landing Zone Infrastructure Design to enable secure North-South traffic flow with designated External Interfaces and Public Transport Operators, including configuration of NVAs. Perform route verification testing for all defined integrations to ensure network reliability and performance. Mandatory Skills Strong hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Infrastructure (VPCs, Direct Connect, Route Tables, and Network Security). Proven expertise in On-Premise Server and Network Configuration, including setup, patching, and firewall management. Proficiency with Observability and Monitoring Tools (e.g., Dynatrace SaaS) for system and network performance monitoring. #J-18808-Ljbffr
