We are seeking a Reliability Engineer for a high-volume, 300mm wafer manufacturing environment, in preparation for the formation of the joint venture between NXP and VIS, known as VSMC.

This role focuses on ensuring the long-term reliability and robustness of high-voltage semiconductor devices and systems. Responsibilities include designing and executing reliability test plans, analyzing failure mechanisms, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product performance and quality throughout the product lifecycle. Candidates should demonstrate strong planning, organizational, teamwork, and communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement reliability qualification plans for HV semiconductor products (e.g., GaN, SiC, HV CMOS, BCD).
  • Conduct hands-on reliability testing such as HTOL, HTRB, TDDB, and other stress tests.
  • Analyze reliability data using statistical methods and modeling tools to predict product lifetime and failure rates.
  • Investigate failure mechanisms through electrical, physical, and chemical analyses (e.g., SEM, FIB, EMMI).
  • Collaborate with design, process, and product engineering teams to drive reliability improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards like JEDEC, AEC-Q100, and specific customer requirements.
  • Maintain and improve reliability documentation, including FMEAs, control plans, and qualification reports.
  • Support customer audits and provide technical responses related to reliability issues.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of experience in semiconductor reliability engineering, with a focus on high-voltage technologies.
  • Deep understanding of HV device physics, failure mechanisms, and reliability testing methodologies.
  • Experience with reliability test equipment and data analysis tools (e.g., ReliaSoft, JMP, Python).
  • Knowledge of automotive and industrial qualification standards (e.g., AEC-Q100, ISO 26262).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to plan, execute, analyze, and deliver projects on schedule.
