What the role is: The Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) which aims to pioneer innovation solutions and develop world class science and technology capabilities to transform and empower the Home Team in delivering safety and security for Singapore.The HTxAI Products team is committed to empower our Home Team Department (HTD)'s flagship projects through the seamless integration of AI technologies. From identifying opportunities to delivery, launch, and continuous enhancement, HTxAI aims to push boundaries and setting new standards in homeland security.As a Lead/Engineer in HTxAI, you will be part of a dynamic engineering team that designs and develops AI-related solutions for Home Team use cases. We are looking for aspiring candidates with a passion for problem solving and solution development to fulfil a role in AI Products, HTxAI as AI Engineer, who is proactive and is able to design and develop machine learning/deep learning-based AI solutions with good software engineering experience. He/she will be working with product managers, project managers, and different stakeholders to build capabilities for our Home Team officers. What you will be working on: Develop/train machine learning / deep learning AI models or large/multi-modal models to address Home Team use casesWrite production quality code, optimise and containerise AI-models and related solutions for deployment on Cloud Platform (GCC), on-Premises or on-Edge devicesContinually optimise performance of in-house developed AI solution through increase run-time efficiency, reduce computational costs, inference optimisation, parallelisation/distributed computing, etc.Conduct performance testing and troubleshooting.Deploy AI models in production environments and monitor their performance, making necessary adjustments to improve efficiency.Handle data pre-processing and annotation for model training and developmentDocument methodologies, design decisions, and findings in a clear and organized manner to different technical and non-technical stakeholdersProvide technical advisory and review related technical articles to support key business decision and project decision makingKeep abreast of new AI technologies development and continuously improve HTxAI's AI engineering capabilityCollaborate with external partners to co-develop novel AI solutions or enhance existing in-house solutionsLearn and share knowledge in a multi-disciplinary team both internally and externally What we are looking for: Undergraduate / Postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any relevant areas4-5 years of Software Engineering experience with 2-3 years of hands-on experience in AI model training and application.Candidates with experience in PythonExperience with open-source frameworks such as OpenCV, Pytorch and Tensorflow.Candidates with experience in Vision-AI models or knowledge in Large model are preferredAble to develop AI applications and deploy the applications using docker containers with RESTful APIsAble to do Bash and PowerShell Scripting on Linux Operating systemPractical experience with Cloud environment (AWS or Azure)Experience with Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) environment will be strongly preferredCandidates with experience in CI/CD pipeline for model deployment will be an added bonusAble to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams multi-disciplinary / multi-agencies teamsAble to communicate technical concepts and conduct demos in a clear and effective manner to stakeholders of varying technical backgroundKnowledge of emerging AI-related technologies and trendsSelf-motivated, team player, creative with excellent communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.Having domain knowledge in Homeland Security sector will be an added bonusApplicants with more than 5 years' relevant experience will be considered for more senior*** All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
