Job Title: Strategic Planning and Communications Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Planning and Communications Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the development and implementation of our organisational strategy, while also driving effective communication across the organisation.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in strategic planning, communications, and public policy. They will be responsible for supporting the review and development of our organisational, business, and communications strategy, as well as maintaining our suite of internal strategy and business documents.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the development of organisational and business strategies, including conducting research on relevant topics, tracking and consolidating internal data, and developing reports and presentation materials;
  • Maintaining our internal strategy and business documents, ensuring information is up-to-date and accurate;
  • Supporting our funder engagement strategy, including landscape scanning and prospecting, developing pitch decks/engagement collaterals for potential funders, and monitoring and impact reporting;
  • Maintaining and regularly updating our key communications collaterals and platforms, such as corporate brochures, marketing materials, website, and social media platforms;
  • Performing secretariat functions for Board and Advisory Council-related matters, including coordinating and staffing Board meetings and retreats, documentation and minutes, and administrative matters;
  • Supporting Deputy Director (Strategy and Communications) and Senior Management in other cross-cutting organisational strategy and communications matters, where relevant.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in government and public policy, ideally with some exposure to strategy, planning, and/or communications functions;
  • Prior experience in branding and marketing would be an advantage;
  • Applicants with related experience in Public/civil service highly preferred;
  • Strong intellectual and analytical capabilities, along with native fluency in English (written and spoken);
  • Adaptability and resourcefulness, being able to find creative solutions to new challenges and opportunities;
  • A strong belief in our mission and goals, with the willingness to learn and grow alongside the organisation.
