Overview

Overall Job Purpose:

To plan and drive developments through integrated planning approach and take on design management role for relevant projects so as to achieve One Sentosa Experience.

Key Responsibilities

Master Plan/ Precinct Plan/ General Developments:

• To plan and drive precinct-level and single-building developments through integrated planning approach - involving in the various stages from design feasibility studies, assessing development cost benefits, obtaining budget approvals, determining project KPIs (eg. drive visitorship, improve guest satisfactions and achieve SDC’s sustainability goals etc.), considering guests profile and user experience, formulating project briefs, carrying out design processes, stakeholders’ engagements, presentations to management, ministries/ agencies and delegates etc., management of consultants and seeing the projects to full delivery.
• To develop Urban Design Guidelines (UDG) which shall include (not exhaustive) urban form, lighting, landscape and signage guidelines.
• To take on design management role for new/ ongoing projects i.e. manage the quality of architectural and general design outcomes.

Planning and Development Control (Architectural services):

• To develop planning parameters and schematic drawings for internal stakeholders’ planning proposals and submissions.
• To engage internal stakeholders for their inputs and render architectural advice and services to them i.e. develop architectural tender documentation and drawings.
• To review prospects’/ island partners’ design development and construction drawings (where necessary) to ensure the compliance of planning parameters/UDG.
• To pre-consult agencies where required.

Planning and Development Control (Regulatory):

• To liaise with relevant stakeholders on land-related planning matters eg. Master Plan Committee’s (MPC) approvals, land sales, proclamation, alienation, tenancies, leases and regularization work.

Leadership Development

• To guide subordinate(s) in achieving their project KPIs and to develop to their fullest potential.

Others

• To attend relevant seminars and courses; and conduct research (either in-house or through 3rd party consultant) to keep abreast on the latest related trends in precinct and architecture developments and the latest technologies in the built environment pertaining to IDD and BIM. These must be translated to executable initiatives to drive SDC development design in terms of quality, efficiency and/or cost.

Job Requirements

• Appetite for learning.
• Strong design flair and a creative problem solver.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Have leadership qualities and is a good team player who can join the dots in the complex developmental processes in order to drive projects.
• Efficient time management.
• Registered Qualified Person under Singapore’s Board of Architects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture with min 10 year experience. Master’s degree of above equivalent will be an advantage.
• Relevant degree in Urban Design or Planning can be considered.
• Software skills - Autocad, Sketchup with real time rendering, Photoshop, Powerpoint and Microsoft Office.
• Experience in AI Architectural rendering software, BIM, Revit will be an added advantage.
