Job Description This role plays a key part in driving the digital transformation of the university’s procurement processes. As the Senior Manager / Associate Director (SAP Ariba System), the candidate will lead the implementation and management of SAP Ariba and related systems, ensuring the successful delivery of IT projects that enhance procurement efficiency and governance. By working closely with business stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams, the candidate will help align technology solutions with strategic goals, ultimately supporting operational excellence and long-term organisational growth. Duties and Responsibilities Project Management & Delivery Lead end-to-end SAP Ariba and related IT project implementations. Define and manage project scope, timelines, risks, and budgets. Ensure alignment with NUS policies and standards. Oversee integration with other systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SuccessFactors). Liaise with internal business users to gather requirements and align solutions. Manage vendors and service providers to ensure contract compliance and timely delivery. System Maintenance & Support Oversee support operations and ensure service levels are met. Plan and deliver system enhancements and bug fixes. Ensure audit and security compliance. Lead and mentor project or support teams. Optimize resource allocation and maintain team morale. Strategic Planning Contribute to IT roadmaps and procurement system strategies. Participate in annual IT project planning and prioritization. Day-to-Day Activities Meet with business users to understand requirements or support issues. Coordinate with vendors on project progress or system support matters. Conduct or review system testing, troubleshooting, and change management. Prepare or review technical and project documentation. Track project milestones, report status, and manage risks/issues. Perform data/system analysis and recommend improvements. Attend planning meetings and contribute to roadmap discussions. Handle audit and compliance queries related to SAP Ariba systems. Qualifications At least 10 years within IT industry, inclusive of at least 8 years in SAP Ariba, and at least 5 years’ experience in project management inclusive of one or more complete cycles for large scale IT project implementation, preferably in SAP Ariba. Knowledge in one or more of the following systems and modules will be an added advantage: SAP Ariba (Buying and Invoicing, Sourcing, Discovery, Contract Management, Supplier Lifecycle and Performance) and S/4Hana for MM module—Purchasing and Invoicing. Familiar in the Procurement and Finance related business domains. Able to provide support for non-SAP procurement related system. Good grasp of IT technologies, methodologies, architectures, and best practices. Experience with procurement related AI tools will be an added advantage. Strong business process and analytical skills with the ability to assimilate information quickly and communicate complex requirements and issues clearly and concisely. The ability to understand the business questions that users are trying to answer is essential. Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of management, users and vendors. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with minimum supervision. Must be a good team player, proactive in nature, fast learner, highly organized and positive attitude.
