Brief Summary
Join a dynamic team as a Workshop Manager where you will lead technicians to deliver exceptional service and ensure customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Allocate tasks to technicians considering their skills, job priorities, and availability. Monitor daily job progress to ensure timely completion and effective handover of work. Maintain workshop efficiency and productivity standards. Provide guidance to technicians on complex diagnostics and repair processes. Conduct quality control checks on completed tasks. Authorise additional necessary work and coordinate with Service Advisors for customer approvals. Collaborate with Service Advisors to keep customers informed on progress and updates. Assist in the resolution of customer complaints and manage comeback situations. Uphold high standards of vehicle care and presentation. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the workshop environment. Maintain a clean and organised workplace. Guarantee all repairs meet required standards and regulations. Lead and inspire the technician team to achieve high performance levels. Conduct regular team briefings and monitor training requirements to support team development. Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of workshop personnel.
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive technology or a related field. Proven experience in a workshop control or senior technician role, ideally in a premium automotive setting. Strong technical knowledge of contemporary vehicle systems is essential. Demonstrated leadership and coordination abilities within a team environment. Understanding of warranty and manufacturer standards. Familiarity with dealership systems (e.g., CDK/Kerridge, TOPIx, AutoGateway) is advantageous. Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. Valid Class 3 / 3C driving license required.
