Database Administrator Position

We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator to manage, administer and support database technologies in a large financial services environment.

The role involves working with PostgreSQL and Sybase database technologies to ensure they meet the highest standards of performance, security and scalability.

This position requires strong experience in administration, configuration, upgrades and patching of databases, as well as proven knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery setups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure and upgrade PostgreSQL clusters
  • Architect secure and scalable database infrastructure, including HA/DR solutions
  • Monitor and optimize database performance
  • Perform advanced tuning, indexing and SQL query analysis

Required Skills:

  • 6-8 years of experience in PostgreSQL/Sybase DBA
  • Strong experience in administration, configuration, upgrades and patching of databases
  • Proven knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery setups
  • Hands-on experience in performance tuning, query optimization and index management

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience in financial services industry
  • Familiarity with database security policies, encryption and access controls
  • Scripting knowledge in Python, Shell, T-SQL for automation
