About This Role

We are seeking a passionate Community Health Advocate & Program Lead to join our dynamic team fighting for health equity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives amplifying patient voices, strengthening grassroots networks, and building programs bringing hope and healing to underserved communities.
  • Advocate for equitable access to healthcare through storytelling, community engagement, and policy dialogue.
  • Build relationships with grassroots organizations, health workers, and patient groups.
  • Co-create support initiatives with people who've experienced health crises (e.g., cancer, HIV, rare diseases).
  • Represent the organization in regional forums, media, and health advocacy events.
  • Support monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement of community health programs.

About You

  • Lived experience with illness or chronic disease fuels your purpose.
  • Strong emotional intelligence, deep empathy, and a trauma-informed mindset are essential.
  • Bold communication skills unafraid to challenge stigma and push for change are required.
  • A tenacious leader who follows through, even in the face of obstacles, is ideal.
  • Proven experience in advocacy, community organizing, public health, or social impact roles is necessary.
  • Deep understanding of African or other-wise health systems and cultural contexts is an asset.
  • Fluency in English/Mandarin is required; additional local languages are an asset.
