Environmental Officer

Overview We are seeking a qualified Environmental Control Officer to oversee and enforce environmental compliance for large-scale infrastructure projects . This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining environmental management standards, reducing potential environmental impacts, and ensuring all works meet the required regulations and approvals . Responsibilities Oversee site activities to ensure full compliance with the Environmental Management Plan (EMP)and take prompt action to address non-compliance. Work to minimise environmental impact across all project operations. Support the project team in securing all necessary environmental permits and approvals. Assess and endorse environmental performance goals, while recommending practical, sustainable solutions. Carry out regular site inspections and comprehensive audits. Prepare and maintain inspection checklists to support monitoring efforts. Keep detailed records of environmental matters, incidents, and corrective actions, including issuing on-the-spot penalties where applicable. Maintain a log of public feedback, recording all complaints and community observations. Qualifications Must hold current registration as an Environmental Control Officer (ECO) with the National Environment Agency (NEA). At least 2 years of hands-on construction experience in environmental compliance or a related field.
