About The Team

The Engineering Infrastructure team, specifically the DBaaS - DB Solution team, supports Shopee's growth by providing a unified, scalable database access solution. The team develops services, frameworks, and practices to unify backend architecture, improve engineering efficiency, and ensure stable and smooth backend service development.
Job Description
Design and implement high-performance database access solutions to enhance Shopee's backend architecture, promoting a unified system.
Identify and resolve challenges in database access, proposing innovative, scalable solutions.
Collaborate with other teams to develop strategies to improve system efficiency, scalability, and stability.
Requirements
Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science or related fields.
Passionate about coding, innovation, and solving challenging problems.
Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, OS, networks, databases).
Hands-on experience with at least one programming language: Go, Python, C++, or Java.
Strong logical thinking skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with relational databases like MySQL.
Knowledge of MySQL sharding, scaling methods, and technologies such as Vitess and ShardingSphere.
Familiarity with Linux development and multi-threaded programming.
Knowledge of network protocols (TCP, UDP, and network programming.
Experience in designing large-scale distributed systems.
