About the role: We’re seeking a Senior Analyst – Stainless Steel to lead and deliver market-leading analysis and client-facing products. You will act as a recognised industry expert, translating client and market needs into impactful thought leadership, robust datasets and models, and high-quality engagements - while embedding learnings across the team. Key Responsibilities: Develop compelling thought leadership narratives at macro (global themes) and micro (asset-level) scales, including cross-commodity insights. Lead global stainless steel supply–demand research; build, maintain, and improve datasets, models, and methodologies that underpin CRU’s Market Services. Own organisation and updates of customer-facing data series; identify and execute workflow and model enhancements. Conduct primary and secondary research; build strong networks across market, industry, and institutional contacts; continuously feed insights back into CRU data. Lead customer engagement: meetings, demos, presentations, webinars/events; secure keynote slots at Tier 1 conferences; work with media to promote CRU expertise. Drive commercial impact: represent assigned Market Services, nurture key relationships, and partner with Sales/Marketing on renewals and new business. Collaborate across the global Analysis team; share best practices and mentor early-career analysts, supporting them in client conversations. Uphold and model CRU values of collaboration, proactivity, and adaptability. Qualifications: Degree from a top university or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Master’s degree (merit or above) advantageous. Skills & Experience: Experience in the mining and metals industry is essential; operational experience highly advantageous. Strong quantitative skills and creative problem-solving; ability to manage and interpret complex datasets. Proven capability to construct, deliver, and defend a compelling sector narrative. Advanced analytical skills across qualitative and quantitative inputs; quickly identify key trends and drivers to form distinctive insights. Performance-driven, meeting objectives and deadlines with high standards. Commercially astute; understands subscription and advisory value drivers to maximise client value and sustainable revenue.
