The Senior Manager, Applications Scientist will act as a scientific concierge for current and potential users of our technology, providing scientific presentations, virtual and on-site training for clients, and technical support of SomaLogic's core products and data. The work requires attention to detail, strong understanding of SomaLogic's core and associated technologies, and a deep understanding of client applications.
The Senior Manager, Applications Scientist will be responsible for four direct reports, and will report directly to the Vice President and Commercial General Manager, APAC.
Essential Duties
Support and train external clients in utilising the SomaLogic core technologies.
Perform light activities related to equipment installation and inspection in a laboratory setting.
Deliver technology presentations to potential clients.
Develop strong relationships with customers.
Troubleshoot protocols being run in client labs.
Leverage customer feedback to shape future product development.
Support our commercial team and our customers with technical knowledgebase and problem solving.
Represent the business at conferences and trade shows.
Train sales team members on messaging, as appropriate.
Respond to and document technical inquiries in SomaLogic's Salesforce system.
Additional responsibilities as directed by the Vice President and Commercial General Manager, APAC.
Candidate Specification
Bachelor's degree in the life sciences or related field required, with an advanced degree being preferred.
10 years laboratory experience required, with molecular biology or biochemistry experience with nucleic acid or protein research techniques desired.
Experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industries preferred.
Experience leading a team, as well as experience training others desired.
Strong communication skills, as well as excellent presentation skills.
Demonstrated understanding and technical mastery of the needs of scientific customers and core laboratories including experience with successful technology applications and study designs.
Familiarity with data processing and analysis tools and techniques, with excellent troubleshooting skills.
Ability to adapt to change and work effectively on various assignments.
Good organizational and planning skills, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to travel up to 30% required.
