For more information, visit Job Description Assessment, Therapy Planning and Implementation: Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate speech, language, and communication needs of clients with intellectual disabilities and autism. Develop and implement customised therapy plans addressing each client's specific challenges and goals, using evidence‐based approaches. Deliver targeted individual and group speech and language therapy interventions to improve communication skills, social interactions, and academic performance. Collaborative and Interdisciplinary Teamwork: Collaborate with special education educators and other therapists to integrate therapy goals into classroom activities and individual learning plans. Provide training and support to educators and caregivers, including the use of AAC or screening techniques, to reinforce communication skills outside therapy sessions. Assist educators and the speech therapy team in designing and planning the curriculum for special education within this population. Administrative and Operational Tasks: Perform essential clinical administration tasks, including documentation of therapy sessions and outcomes, scheduling, and management of therapy materials. Participate in meetings, coordinate with staff members, and support departmental initiatives to ensure smooth operation of the therapy department. Professional Development and Research: Engage in ongoing professional development through workshops, courses, and training to stay current with the latest advancements in speech‐language therapy. Participate in research activities to contribute to the development of innovative practices and improve therapeutic outcomes. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor or Master's degree in Speech‐Language Pathology from an AHPC recognised institution. Proven experience working with school‐aged children who have intellectual disabilities and autism. Entry‐level therapists are welcome (supervision will be provided). Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Strong ability to work effectively within collaborative, interdisciplinary teams. Excellent problem‐solving skills and the ability to adapt therapy approaches based on individual needs.
