About the Department
The Secretariat department supports the boards of UOB and its Singapore subsidiaries in the discharge of their responsibilities and provides advice on governance matters.
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role within the bank, performing essential elements vital to the running of the company and acting as a trusted board advisor. Responsibilities include:
Providing secretarial support to the UOB Board and Board committees.
Providing secretariat services to Group companies and associated companies.
Advising boards on developments in corporate governance matters.
Ensuring regulatory compliance with corporate governance matters.
Liaising with stakeholders (including regulators, investors, proxy advisers) on corporate governance matters.
Sharing best practices and resources with secretaries of overseas subsidiaries.
Job Requirements
The candidate should be a qualified person under section 171 (1AA) of the Companies Act:
a qualified person under the Legal Profession Act (Cap. 161);
a public accountant;
a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants;
a member of the Chartered Secretaries Institute of Singapore;
a member of the Association of International Accountants (Singapore Branch); or
a member of The Institute of Company Accountants, Singapore.
Minimum 10 years of experience in secretariat work with a listed company in Singapore. Prior experience with a listed financial institution in Singapore is a plus.
