Mathematics Educator Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Mathematics educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating an engaging learning environment that fosters the development of students' interest in mathematics.

About the Role

  • Prepare and deliver lessons according to the course syllabus and scheme of work.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to students as a mentor or form teacher.
  • Assess student performance and provide academic counselling.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university, ESL teaching certifications, and knowledge of further mathematics. Professional teacher qualifications and fluency in Mandarin are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching: Deliver lessons to students, providing knowledge and instruction while helping them develop their personalities and skills.
  • Supervision: Provide necessary supervision to students, manage the classroom, and address discipline issues.
  • Assessment: Prepare and mark examination papers and assignments, monitor student performance and progress.
  • Counselling: Provide academic counselling to students, identify and discuss their academic and pastoral needs with parents/academic team/student relations.

The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, logical thinker, and team player.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized university
  • ESL Teaching Certifications like CELTA, TESOL, TESL etc are advantageous
  • Knowledge of Further Mathematics is required
  • Professional Teacher qualifications are preferred
  • Fluency in Mandarin is preferred but not compulsory
  • Able to speak English with neutral accent
