Description Join to apply for the Senior Research Engineer/Lead Research Engineer (DMD Division/CPPS Group), SIMTech role at A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research Role Summary Seeking a highly motivated senior research engineer or lead research engineer to lead and conduct R&D in Industry 5.0 smart manufacturing solutions and integrating digital technologies with AI-enabled physical production systems that promote intelligent and autonomous systems in manufacturing. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in data connectivity, system integration and understanding of shopfloor execution system. Responsibilities Conduct research and development in novel shopfloor operations systems for scalable self-learning, self-optimizing and self-recovery production systems Lead the design and implementation of integrated Operational Technology alongside a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists. Work with a team of engineers and scientists to design and implement integrated OT and AI-enabled production systems for smart manufacturing Understand autonomous manufacturing domain and provide innovative solutions to industry problems in this area Build data interoperability and data pipelines setups to support AI-enabled production systems. Requirements Masters or Bachelor degree in relevant field. 1-3 years experience in industry and/or R&D projects in the area of shopfloor data connectivity, Manufacturing Execution system and software backend development. Proficient in Python, C/C++/C#, .Net, Node.js, JavaScript, Rea Preferred Skills Familiarity with industry communication protocols such as OPC-UA, MQTT, Profibus, and RS-232 is an advantage. Knowledge of extracting data from various PLC (eg.
