THE ROLE
Virtu’s Crypto trading desk is a newly formed, global team focused on digital asset and digital asset derivative trading. The team utilizes our advanced trading technology to develop and refine strategies and trading operations for both proprietary and client-facing businesses.
Crypto Traders act as risk managers, ensuring smooth operation of our trading systems and strategies, providing essential operational support, and maintaining our high-performance algorithmic trading strategies. Responsibilities include:
Supervising and optimizing strategy performance
Intraday market and credit risk management
Basic back-office and site reliability monitoring
Coordination with the global Crypto trading team
The ideal candidate is dependable, trustworthy, and confident in overseeing our trading activities during atypical hours. They will have opportunities to collaborate with software engineers to enhance and develop our trading strategies further. Our Traders gain expertise in trading technology, market microstructure, and liquidity dynamics, playing a vital role in the evolution of market practices. This position offers a chance to join a collaborative, fast-growing desk and learn Crypto trading at a leading market maker.
THE CANDIDATE
1-3 years’ experience at a financial institution; crypto experience is a plus but not required.
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field preferred; strong graduates will also be considered.
Programming experience required (Python, SQL, Java, or C++).
Dependable, trustworthy, highly self-motivated, and disciplined.
Excellent quantitative problem-solving skills and mathematical aptitude.
Strong communication skills, able to convey information clearly and efficiently.
Proactive problem solver who identifies issues and creates solutions independently.
THE PROCESS
Applicants passing initial screening will be invited to complete an online programming test via HackerRank to assess coding skills.
