Manager, Global Material Planning

Role & Responsibilities:
Position Definition (Key Purpose of the Position):
Lead strategic planning activities for all Nominated Source materials, including long-term strategic planning, seasonal planning, and material preposition strategies. Develop raw material sourcing strategies, supplier capacity plans, and drive seasonal supply planning to maximize product availability in collaboration with fabric engineers, GSP, RSP, PSP, and other functions.
Ensure delivery of direct source suppliers and their OTP performance, support exceptional case settlement, and explore best practices to smooth the buying process.
Utilize relationship-building, strong business sense, and strategic thinking to drive decision-making that ensures process integration and alignment across regions, maximizing business goals.
Conduct deep analysis of various data sources to explore business opportunities, identify gaps for automation, and ensure data integrity.
Lead and develop direct reports, embracing VF Guiding Principles and fostering a One VF culture in all interactions with team members, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
Key Result Areas:
Execute Global Material Planning strategy to meet brand requirements by translating needs and future trends into supplier-facing capabilities.
Understand demand forecasts and regional business requirements to co-lead the creation of raw material sourcing strategies aligned with long-term revenue goals.
Develop and implement supplier management tools to achieve GMP strategy, goals, and objectives.
Co-lead material preposition initiatives to ensure On-Time Performance.
Translate brand requirements, global operations, planning, and product supply strategies into global material supply and supplier-specific requirements.
Build strategic relationships with key stakeholders including brand/regional operations, Asia Product Supply, global planning, and key suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials at optimal cost.
Act as process owner for GMP policies, driving policy changes and ensuring proper implementation across relevant departments.
Drive initiatives for higher agility within sourcing, advancing global supply planning processes, analytical frameworks, and allocation approaches.
Ensure the strategy framework includes clear actions, timelines, and responsibilities for supply base management.
Continuously evolve GMP strategy frameworks and communication tools to adapt to changing priorities and brand requirements.
Collaborate with global planning and product supply departments to meet KPIs such as On-Time Performance and Buy Acceptance Rates, supporting quality and CSR initiatives.
Prepare analytical reports and presentations to illustrate future demand trends, opportunities, or risks to senior management.
Analyze organizational performance, forecast risks, and work with global functions on issue resolution.
Recruit and develop a high-performing team, fostering an environment of empowerment, trust, creativity, and innovation.
Provide strategic leadership, mentorship, and succession planning for team members.
Identify supply chain risks and provide assessment and mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
Report potential delays and explore solutions collaboratively with sourcing, brand, and costing teams.
Partner with sourcing teams to build a comprehensive supplier capability matrix to support sourcing strategies and supplier selection.

Ability to hypothesize and analyze multiple scenarios.
Understanding of supply chain processes, forecasting, and S&OP.
Proven management experience including leadership, coaching, and team building.
