We are partnering with a leading technology organisation to hire a DevSecOps Engineer focused on SRE to support the delivery of large-scale, cloud-native platforms. This role is critical in building and operating containerised runtime environments that serve enterprise-wide needs across the public sector.
Responsibilities
As part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for:
Automation & Toil Reduction : Streamline repetitive tasks with CI/CD pipelines, enhancing operational efficiency.
Observability & System Health : Implement logs, metrics, traces, and alerts around the Four Golden Signals (latency, traffic, errors, saturation) with proactive remediation.
Incident Management : Participate in on-call rotations, reduce MTTR, and drive post-incident reviews for system resilience.
Security & Compliance : Design secure solutions, integrate vulnerability scanning tools, and collaborate with security teams to meet compliance standards.
Optimisation & Performance : Resolve performance bottlenecks, define and track KPIs (uptime, MTTR, cost efficiency), and ensure scalability.
Customer Engagement : Advise tenants on containerisation best practices and cloud-native deployment strategies.
Knowledge Sharing : Maintain playbooks, runbooks, and documentation to support efficient incident response.
Continuous Learning : Stay current on Kubernetes, AWS, and industry trends, recommending improvements and innovations.
Requirements
Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong background in
Site Reliability Engineering
or similar, with expertise in
containerisation and cloud-native technologies .
Hands-on experience with
AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), GitLab, CI/CD , and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar).
Proficiency in scripting languages such as
Go, Python, or Bash .
Familiarity with
observability tools
(Prometheus, Grafana, ELK), SLOs, and Error Budgets.
Knowledge of Kubernetes tools (Kustomize, Helm), AWS integrations (Secrets Manager, Load Balancers), and automation testing.
Exposure to
service mesh, chaos engineering, or Kubernetes operators
is advantageous.
Relevant certifications such as
CKA / CKAD
are a plus.
