What the role is: The Engineer / Lead Engineer of AI Training & Competency will be part of a dynamic team that will develop, evaluate, chart, and deliver training and certification courses that cater to diverse competency levels. He/she will play a pivotal role in upskilling and reskilling our workforce, ensuring they are proficient in the latest AI technologies and applications. What you will be working on: Develop the AI Competency Framework to provide guidance to the organisation in development their AI competencies. Evaluate and chart out training and certification courses mapped to different competency levels. Foster partnerships with vendors and research institutions, collaborate with training providers to design and deliver high-quality courses. Design and implement AI training programs aligned with business objectives. Develop and maintain a comprehensive training catalog. Assess training effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement. Liaise with stakeholders to identify training needs and preferences. Create customized course materials, including training manuals, presentations, and assessments. Develop and maintain a community of practice for AI professionals. Conduct in-house training sessions and workshops. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AI, to ensure ongoing relevance and effectiveness of the AI training programmes and competency roadmap. What we are looking for: Postgraduate / Tertiary qualification in computer science, engineering, information systems or other quantitative/ analytical fields. Proven experience in AI training and competency development. Strong understanding of AI concepts, machine learning, and deep learning. Experience working with training providers and vendors. Familiarity with adult learning principles and training evaluation methodologies. Experience with AI applications in various industries (e.g., computer vision, natural language processing). Good facilitation skills, extensive organising capabilities and strategic foresight. Ability to create engaging and interactive course materials. Familiarity with AI ethics and responsible AI practices, cloud-based AI platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), and agile project and product management methodologies. Self-motivated, team player, creative with excellent communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently. Having domain knowledge in Homeland Security sector will be an added bonus. Applicants with more than 5 years’ relevant experience will be considered for more senior positions. All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
