Role Overview As an Applied R&D Engineer, your responsibilities include: Conducting pioneering research and developing new capabilities, as well as reviewing and refining existing programmes, operations, procedures, and systems. Developing prototype software and applications across various platforms (Windows, Linux, Android, iOS). Designing and building hardware prototypes. Engaging with partners and stakeholders to define research objectives, propose plans, conduct trials, and report findings for strategic planning. Managing research collaborations and conducting field trials with overseas and local tertiary institutions, consultants, and vendors on relevant research projects. Candidate Requirements Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, ICT disciplines, or equivalent. Knowledge or proficiency in at least one of the following fields: Internet communication, mobile communications, wireless and radio frequency technologies. Video and audio acquisition and management systems. Signal processing, including audio/speech, video, and multimedia processing. Media analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Electronics and circuit design. Research experience, especially in evaluation research, is preferred. Quantitative research skills are preferred; qualitative skills are also considered. Programming, coding, and scripting skills. Good judgment in problem resolution and solution approaches. Ability to work independently and in a team within a fast-paced environment. Interest in developing solutions for real-world applications. Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills. Only Singaporeans need apply.
