The Role Backend Software Engineers design and build scalable, high-performance systems that power our AI and data-processing capabilities. You will work across the product lifecycle, from design to deployment, and collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and subject-matter experts. Typical work includes designing and maintaining services, optimizing performance, and building APIs that support data-intensive legal workflows. Core Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain backend systems for AI-driven legal applications. Write and review code following best practices and high-quality standards. Build and maintain APIs for frontend integration and external services. Optimize applications for scalability and low-latency performance. Develop data structures and algorithms for processing large-scale datasets. Work with cross-functional teams to improve user workflows and product reliability. Technologies We Use Languages: Python Databases: Solr, PostgreSQL, Qdrant Containers/Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes CI/CD: GitHub Actions, ArgoCD What We Value Strong understanding of server-side logic, distributed systems, and efficient data processing. Experience building reliable systems in production environments. Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams. Adaptability to changing objectives and iterative development. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Masters degree is a plus. Proven experience building and maintaining backend systems in production. Strong knowledge of data structures, distributed system architecture, and API design. Strong communication skills and ability to incorporate feedback effectively.
