Job Summary:
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) will play a crucial role in the management and coordination of all public relations activities for the construction project. This role requires effective communication with the community, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure smooth project execution, mitigate disruptions, and address any concerns or feedback. The PRO will be stationed on-site and will be responsible for implementing the public outreach programme in line with the project’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Public Outreach Programme Implementation:
Develop and execute a comprehensive public outreach programme to engage the local community and stakeholders, focusing on effective communication of project progress and timelines.
Coordinate and manage public relations efforts related to the project, ensuring timely updates to all affected parties.
Community Engagement:
Inform the community of the project's duration, key milestones, and progress updates.
Proactively communicate schedules for construction activities that may cause disruptions such as noise, dust, and other nuisances.
Arrange and conduct regular meetings with the community to address concerns related to noise pollution, dust, and environmental impacts.
Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for community members, tenants, and occupiers of surrounding sites to address their feedback or concerns.
Log and manage feedback from the community, ensuring all cases are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
Redirect non-project related feedback to the appropriate parties and ensure all issues are properly closed.
Reporting & Coordination:
Maintain a detailed log of community feedback and actions taken.
Report on the public outreach programme's progress to the Site Officer (SO) and the Employer as required.
Collaborate with the project team, SO, and Employer to address public relations concerns, ensuring compliance with the agreed-upon strategies.
Crisis Management:
Handle and resolve community issues, including managing complaints and mitigating any potential conflicts.
Work closely with the project team to ensure the proper implementation of measures to minimize any disruption caused by the construction process.
Requirements:
Educational Qualification:
Polytechnic diploma or higher.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in public relations or community engagement, preferably in construction or similar industries.
Language Skills:
Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with diverse community members, stakeholders, and project teams.
Able to commence work at short notice.
