Job description Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. Additional job description In this role, you will build Cloud Interconnect, which virtualizes the edge and backbone and allows enterprise customers to connect their on-premises data centers/networks to GCP at 100 and 10 Gb/s speed. Interconnect has been one of the key features for GCP to onboard large enterprises and as such is a high impact project. You will also span to connecting smaller customers through partners, as well as building ultra-low-latency interconnects in order for customers to be able to use large file stores and databases operated by third-parties, adjacent to (but not within) Google data centers. You will manage complexity from physical network and routers through cloud virtualization. Qualifications Job responsibilities Support the launch of Cloud networking infrastructure to enable AI driven workloads to unlock their full potential. Design, develop, and scale cloud networking products and infrastructure to enable the hybrid cloud technical roadmap, ensure their availability, reliability, and performance. Advocate and drive engineering and operational excellence. Create designs for complex projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on ambitious goals. Minimum qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree. Ability to communicate in Mandarin and English fluently to partner with local clients and regional partners. Preferred qualifications Master's degree in a relevant technical field. Experience in networking spanning one or more of the configuration, control and data planes. Experience with infrastructure technologies including developing large-scale distributed systems. Experience developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact. Ability to help quickly and resolve customer-related issues.
