To meet our challenges, we are looking for a
Junior Food Technologist
within the
Customer Technical Services (CTS)
team This position will be located in
Singapore .
Our Team
Listening to customers, the CTS team develops, formulates, and evaluates our customer’s finished products in their labs. Based on a scientific approach, CTS partners with customers to speed up their development by well knowing their application in their market and understanding their needs.
As the markets we serve at Roquette are global, the CTS teams are globally based to better serve our customers around 4 areas (Europe, Americas, Greater Asia & China).
CTS teams develop strong relationships with our Global R&D and our commercial & marketing forces to better serve our customers.
Their mission?
Work on hands-on projects within the CTS Food scope, focusing on 80% savory applications such as sauces, dressings, processed meat, and plant-based meat, among others. The remaining 20% will include dairy, specialized nutrition, beverages, bakery, snacks, and confectionery applications.
Position Scope:
GBU Food / Greater Asia
Your experience and talents will make the difference to:
Application Study
Conduct an application study by designing experiments to study ingredients and processes, conducting lab trials, operating pilot and lab equipment.
Operate analytical instruments such as texture analyzers, viscometers, etc., collect data from the experiments and samples, and analyze the data for study reports.
Work with the analytical team for sensory evaluation of samples.
Write study reports and present results in a scientific approach.
Prototypes Development and Preparation
Develop new application prototypes/concepts based on customer needs or market trends.
Prepare prototypes based on existing recipes.
Conduct analytical tests on the prototypes and send them for microbial tests if needed.
Conform to safety policies within the CTS Food Lab.
Manage the inventory of consumables and samples.
Ensure the proper operation of equipment, order, and cleanliness in the laboratory.
Pack samples, prototypes, lab items and arrange for shipping to other sites.
Contribute to a safe and environmentally friendly workplace.
What we will love about you:
Knowledge and experience with specialty ingredients, particularly starch, in food applications.
Experience in handling laboratory food processing equipment such as retorts, batch cookers, and blenders.
Manufacturing experience.
Good spoken and written English. Spoken Mandarin.
Demonstrates strong internal and external verbal and written communication skills.
Self-starter with a passion for food science and chemistry.
Has an analytical mind and a passion for searching for new solutions.
Critical thinking.
Effective team player, independent, and resourceful.
And also ...
Minimum BSc. in Food Science, Technology, Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent.
1-2 years of experience in a similar role in any food company.
