Job Title: IT Infrastructure Specialist
Responsibilities:
Ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of all onboard IT systems, including servers, communication networks, workstations, and peripherals. Perform routine checks to guarantee performance and uptime, and verify that alerts, antivirus updates, security patches, and backup processes are properly executed.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide hands-on technical support to vessel crew members, resolving issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain strong cybersecurity measures on board, including endpoint protection, user access controls, and secure configurations.
  • Oversee the implementation of IT projects on board, including software upgrades, license renewals, antivirus deployments, and communication system enhancements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all IT assets for assigned vessels.
  • Prepare and present budget estimates and project timelines for new initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation covering systems, networks, and processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience in managing and maintaining IT systems, preferably in a maritime environment. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate with various stakeholders. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Cisco CCNA) are highly desirable.
