3D Printing Specialist

As a 3D printing specialist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various 3D printers.

The ideal candidate should have experience with 3D printing technologies, including FDM, SLA, and SLS. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently are also essential.

In addition to technical skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities are required to collaborate effectively with design and R&D teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and Maintain 3D Printers : Ensure the smooth operation of 3D printers, perform routine maintenance tasks, and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Prepare Files for Printing : Slice and prepare files for printing, considering factors such as orientation, supports, and material selection.
  • Post-Process Printed Parts : Cure, sand, and finish printed parts to meet quality standards.
  • Calibrate and Troubleshoot Printers and Equipment : Regularly calibrate and troubleshoot 3D printers and related equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain Clean and Organized Workspace : Keep the workspace clean and organized to ensure efficient workflow and minimize errors.
  • Work with Design/R&D Teams : Collaborate with design and R&D teams to improve print quality, develop new products, and enhance existing ones.
  • Manage Material and Spare Part Inventory : Monitor and manage inventory levels of 3D printing materials and spare parts to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
  • Document Printing Procedures and Maintenance Logs : Record and document printing procedures, maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting processes for future reference.
  • Support Internal Teams on 3D Printing Capabilities : Provide training and support to internal teams on 3D printing capabilities, limitations, and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education : Diploma or degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
  • Experience : Experience with 3D printing technologies, preferably in a production or engineering environment.
  • Skills : Strong problem-solving skills, basic CAD knowledge, familiarity with slicing software (e.g., Cura, PrusaSlicer), and excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
