Lead Legal Expert

The organisation is seeking a Lead Legal Expert to play a key role in supporting its regulatory, legal and corporate functions. The successful candidate will provide high-level legal advice on a range of matters including telecommunications, media, data protection and administrative law.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic legal guidance on regulatory affairs.
  • Advise on areas including administrative law, TMT/ICT, competition law, regulatory instruments, exercise of regulatory powers, enforcement proceedings, and appeals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in the development of legislation, regulatory frameworks, and policies.
  • Draft, review, and advise on contracts.
  • Support the organisation's corporate and industry development functions with legal expertise.
  • Identify potential legal risks and recommend strategies for effective management.
  • Establish and maintain internal governance policies to ensure compliance.
  • Advise on contentious legal issues.
  • Manage litigation matters in coordination with external counsel when required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law.
  • Admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor in Singapore.
  • 6-8 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) in legal practice and/or corporate in-house (TMT, ICT, data protection).
  • Prior litigation experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
