Anatomical Pathology Consultant Opportunity in Singapore

Consultant Anatomical Pathologist A Consultant Surgical (Anatomic) Pathologist position is now available at one of the long standing tertiary hospitals in Singapore. The facility is a 795‐bed general and acute care hospital located in the Northern part of Singapore. It is part of one of the major healthcare groups in Singapore who provide tertiary healthcare to a resident population of 1.5 million living in the central and northern regions of Singapore. The position is based in the Anatomic Pathology Section of the Department of Laboratory Medicine (DLM). The anatomical pathology laboratory is accredited with the College of American Pathologists (CAP). Responsibilities Work closely with surgical pathology colleagues from two other hospitals to provide anatomical pathology services to the main hospital and the adjoining community hospital. Diagnostic reporting of a range of general histopathology and cytopathology cases. Intra‐operative consults. Validation and quality control of laboratory processes. Leadership of the surgical pathology service. Consultative services to staff of various clinical disciplines, including regular interaction with surgical and oncology services and attendance at multidisciplinary tumour boards and tissue audit committee meetings. Administrative and educational duties such as serving on hospital and external (up to national level) committees, teaching medical undergraduates, resident physicians, surgical pathology trainee doctors (through the residency programme), and laboratory technical staff. Research opportunities available, with collaboration potential with colleagues from the hospital and other group institutions. Qualifications Medical degree suitable for registration with the Singapore Medical Council. Specialist postgraduate qualification such as FRCPA, FRCPath with CCT from the UK, or Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology from the U.S., for accreditation as a Specialist Pathologist with the Singapore Specialists Accreditation Board. Appointment based on relevant number of years of experience as a Surgical Pathologist.
