Storage Infrastructure Professional

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Storage Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise storage solutions, managing day-to-day storage provisioning, capacity planning, performance tuning, and monitoring.

You will oversee backup, replication, disaster recovery, and data retention strategies, as well as implement automation scripts and processes to improve storage efficiency and reliability.

This is a key position in our team, requiring strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Architecture: Define, design, and implement enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS, object storage, cloud storage).
  • Administration and Operations: Manage day-to-day storage provisioning, capacity planning, performance tuning, and monitoring.
  • Data Protection: Oversee backup, replication, disaster recovery, and data retention strategies.
  • Automation and Optimization: Implement automation scripts and processes to improve storage efficiency and reliability.
  • Incident and Problem Management: Lead troubleshooting for storage-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Security and Compliance: Maintain storage systems in line with security standards, audits, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work with infrastructure, database, virtualization, and application teams to support business requirements.
  • Vendor and Technology Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with storage vendors and recommend upgrades or new technologies.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation for storage configurations, procedures, and standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of IT experience in administering Enterprise Storage design, deployment, and operations in a financial institution or MNC.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Good experience in enterprise backup solutions design and operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of security, risk, and compliance frameworks, particularly within the financial services industry.
  • Experience in bash, Powershell, and other scripting for operational efficiency.
  • Experience in managing day-to-day operations of Enterprise IT infrastructure including the change management process, risk and impact assessment.
  • Experience in performing VM migration on databases like Oracle, MySQL, and MSSQL would be advantageous.
  • Ability to direct project design and planning activities for complex or large-scale network infrastructure development projects.
  • Experience in dealing with vendors on technology and services.
  • Excellent ability to communicate technical and strategic information effectively across all organisational levels, fostering collaboration and alignment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter and possess a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Resilient, ability to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced environment.
