Overview
Facilities Engineer (M&E) role at UWC South East Asia (UWCSEA) – permanent vacancy at the Dover Campus. The position oversees the maintenance and improvement of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) systems, ensuring efficient operation, safety, and sustainability of the school’s infrastructure, including ACMV, lifts, mechanical pumps, electrical systems, and fire protection. Responsible for managing M&E improvement projects to enhance facility efficiency and performance.
Main Responsibilities
Lead the M&E teams and partners, managing daily operations and administrative matters including the yearly maintenance schedule.
Manage maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all M&E systems, including ACMV, electrical, lightning, fire protection, and building automation.
Conduct regular inspections, tests, and preventive maintenance to identify issues proactively and ensure optimal system performance.
Plan and oversee M&E improvement projects, renovations, upgrades, and installations to enhance facility efficiency, reliability, and compliance.
Collaborate with internal departments, external contractors, and vendors to coordinate M&E projects, budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
Certified FSM and perform the role of Deputy Fire Safety Manager of the Campus, ensuring the operation of fire safety infrastructure such as emergency alarms and safety-related equipment.
Any other duties as assigned by the reporting manager to support department/college needs, including cross-campus deployment.
Person Specifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field; professional certification or licensure is a plus.
Certified Fire Safety Manager.
At least 3 years of experience leading and managing a team.
Good knowledge and skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, fire protection systems, building automation, and energy management.
Good project management abilities, with a proven track record of delivering complex M&E projects on time and within budget.
Experience with M&E systems.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong team player with a self-driven and service-oriented attitude.
Preferably experience in predictive maintenance for facilities management and M&E systems.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and codes related to facilities management.
Ability to prepare engineering specifications and estimates for facility-related projects.
