A BIM Modeler is a professional who creates and manages 3D building information models (BIM) specifically for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, who translates architectural and engineering designs into detailed, accurate 3D models, ensuring the proper representation of ductwork, piping, and equipment within a building. This role requires expertise in BIM software like Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks, as well as a strong understanding of HVAC systems and construction processes. Additionally, you are responsible for coordination of the project assigned to you.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Creating and Managing BIM Models: Developing and maintaining accurate 3D models of HVAC systems within a BIM environment.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Working closely with engineers, architects, and other construction professionals to ensure the model aligns with project requirements and other disciplines.
  • Shop Drawing Production: Generating detailed shop drawings from the BIM model for fabrication and installation of HVAC components.
  • Clash Detection and Resolution: Identifying and resolving potential clashes between different building systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) within the model.
  • Maintaining Project Documentation: Keeping the BIM model and related documentation up-to-date and accurate throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Liaison with Stakeholders: Communicating with various project stakeholders regarding model updates, clash reports, and other relevant information. Attending meetings, preparing minutes, and following up on action items.
