Description Physiotherapist (Full Time/Part Time/Locum)Location: Novena Job Category: Allied Health Posting Date: 15 Oct 2025Responsibilities Examination of patients to evaluate functional ability in terms of mobility, transfers, and ambulation. Identification of potential impairments, movement, and functional limitations. Planning of appropriate goals, treatment plan and timeframe. Implementation of treatment plan. Re-evaluate and modify treatment as required. Physiotherapy intervention based on patient's condition may include manual therapy techniques, airway clearance techniques, and physical, electro‐therapeutic and mechanical agents such as ultrasound, mechanical traction, electrical stimulation, short wave diathermy, hydrocollators, wax therapy, cryotherapy, biofeedback, and compression pump therapy. Functional training such as prescription of specific therapeutic exercises through use of exercise equipment, muscle re‐education, gait training, balance training and postural training. Provision of walking aids and assistive devices as indicated. Patient education and professional communication with patient, caregivers, medical practitioners, and other allied healthcare workers. Maintain accurate and timely patient records. Professional Duties Practice Physiotherapy in a safe, ethical, and legal manner, reflecting socio‐cultural values of the patient, family, and significant others. Maintain absolute confidentiality in matters pertaining to the organization, department, and patients. Take responsibility for own professional learning and growth. Participate in department meetings, in‐service trainings, and work with volunteers within the organization when needed. Liaise with external services, statutory bodies, and other voluntary welfare organisations as appropriate. Supervise Therapy Aide students and Physiotherapy students on placement. Administrative Duties Update patients' statistics daily. Participate actively in the implementation of organisational and departmental policies, and review policies and protocols when necessary. Maintain and replace physiotherapy equipment in the department. Carry out other tasks or projects assigned by the Head of Physiotherapy services / Senior Physiotherapist / Head of Department. Plan and provide coverage when necessary. Take up leadership services such as Outpatient services in‐charge, Therapy Aides in‐charge, and Nursing home rehab in‐charge. Health and Safety Know and implement Health and Safety regulations in RCH; always work safely and participate actively in health and safety programmes. Attend courses on CPR, Manual Handling, and Fire Safety as required by the organization and professional bodies. Read and understand the contents of the Infection Control Manual. Identify, report, and resolve issues that may cause harm or injuries; report all incidents or potential hazards to the reporting officer. Job Requirements Degree in Physiotherapy (recognised by AHPC). Post‐graduate qualification or certification in treatment techniques is an advantage. Registered with Singapore AHPC with a valid practising certificate. Member of the Singapore Physiotherapy Association (highly encouraged). At least 3–5 years of working experience in the relevant field. Experience in a geriatric community hospital, long‐term care or nursing home setting is an advantage. Mature and good team player. Able to serve those patients and residents in need, regardless of race, nationality, religious or social status. Compassionate, understanding, patient and empathetic. Able to cooperate with all colleagues towards the total healthcare of the community. Able to motivate and develop staff. Able to coordinate daily operations within the department. Able to promote a collegial work environment and encourage effective teamwork. The Physiotherapist post is a rotational post within the various settings in Ren Ci Hospital (RCH), namely Community Hospital (CH), Nursing Home (NH), and Senior Care Centre (SCC).
