Medical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biomedical science and laboratory procedures.

Job Description:

  • Perform high complexity testing using molecular diagnostic techniques, including nucleic acid extraction, PCR, genotyping, and next generation sequencing.
  • Ensure proper identification of specimens and chain of custody.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems as needed.
  • Participate in technical and clinical verification and validation studies.
  • Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs.
  • Monitor inventory and lab supplies in assigned areas.
  • Maintain strict quality standards according to laboratory accreditation and licensing requirements.
  • Perform, record, and interpret results of quality control procedures and take corrective action where necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with molecular diagnostics techniques and handling of patient samples.
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to stay focused.
  • Self-motivation, resilience, and keen interest in learning.
