Job Description

As a seasoned engineer, you will be part of our team responsible for designing and implementing cutting-edge technology solutions. Our edge computing platform is used to deploy global, scalable, and secure applications.

Your work will include managing production environments, monitoring availability and alerts, and promptly remediating any issues. You will also design and deliver infrastructure solutions that help build, deploy, and manage service components of the platform.

You will investigate various open-source and proprietary technologies, components, libraries, tools, etc., and help build a highly available, highly scalable, and easily manageable system.

As a technical leader, you will demonstrate expertise in multiple domain areas, providing mentorship to other team members, and partnering with development teams to improve services on an ongoing basis.

Key responsibilities include taking ownership of F5 Cloud Platform software components, delivering a complete product that meets functional, scale, performance, and manageability requirements.

Additionally, you will write clean, efficient code in multiple languages, considering performance, scalability, maintainability, and flexibility. You will develop tooling and processes to ensure the F5 Cloud platform is highly available, scalable, and high-performing.

You will remediate security vulnerabilities in our services and platform on a regular basis and participate in on-call rotation.

Architect and maintain F5's foundational cloud platform services, ensuring consistency, reliability, and scalability across the organization.

Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines, leveraging tools such as Terraform, Helm to automate provisioning, configuration, and environment orchestration.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams-SREs, application engineers, and QA-to define platform requirements, set best practices, and drive adoption of platform tools that improve the developer experience.

Create self-service interfaces and documentation for developers, enabling them to deploy, monitor, and manage applications more easily and securely on the platform.

Define platform-level SLOs and SLIs in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring robust performance monitoring and effective capacity planning.

Continuously evaluate and introduce new technologies and frameworks to enhance the platform's capabilities-focusing on operational efficiency, cost optimization, and developer productivity.
