Roles & Responsibilities

We're looking for Educational Interpreters who are passionate in providing communication accessibility for students with hearing loss (HL) via the medium of Singapore Sign Language (SgSL) in a mainstream school. Make a difference in the lives of these students as you interpret (English Language to and from Singapore Sign Language) for lessons, school activities and programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide interpretation (English Language to and from SgSL) for lessons and all school activities and programmes
  • Modify and align teaching strategies to suit the needs of HL students
  • Work with school management to review and improve school systems/ processes in support for HL students
  • Provide consultation and build capacity of teachers and other school personnel to support HL students
  • Conduct and/or organise workshops for parents and families of HL students
  • Attend and participate in SADeaf events and meetings

To succeed in this role, you should :

  • Have achieved SgSL Course Level 3 or at least SEE2 Advanced Stage
  • Have a diploma or degree in any field
  • Have relevant qualifications and experience in teaching (preferred)
  • Preferably have experience in interacting with the Deaf community

Full-time contract, with potential for renewal.
