Position Summary The Indirect Commodity Manager is responsible for the design and implementation of sourcing solutions that ensure continuity of indirect spend supplies. This role supports Advanced Energy's various business groups, enabling them to operate efficiently, meet internal requirements, and achieve corporate cost objectives by providing cost‐effective solutions for indirect spending in global regions. The manager oversees performance metrics related to quality, delivery, and cost, and is ultimately responsible for supplier selection, overall performance, and problem resolution/crisis management. Essential Responsibilities Request strategic sourcing and contract negotiation for machinery (capital equipment and tools) and IT (hardware, software and services). Develop and execute global category strategies, conduct spend analysis and supplier segmentation. Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify cost‐saving opportunities. Partner with stakeholders to align sourcing plans. Oversee global spend, ensuring compliance, cost optimization, and supplier performance. Facilitate annual business reviews and supplier scorecards. Process purchase requisitions and purchase order confirmations, if necessary. Support global AE manufacturing factories, design and global service centers. Work Environment Standard office environment. General office equipment usage (telephone, PC, copier, etc.). Travel may be required. Skills Proven performance developing strategic supplier relationships. Proactive problem solver with strong planning orientation. Excellent working knowledge of purchasing and electronic manufacturing processes. Capability to respond quickly, decisively, assertively and professionally to changing requirements. People‐ skills and ability to train, mentor and develop a team of buyers. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Proficient with SAP or Ariba. Excellent PC skills including Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office. Experience Essential 5+ years of experience in strategic procurement or commodity management, preferably in industrial machinery or IT. Experience in supply chain management in an electronics manufacturing environment. Developing and deploying comprehensive category and commodity strategies. Collaborating with business leaders and stakeholders to implement strategies and sourcing initiatives. Commodity spend analysis. Supplier contract management. Supporting procure‐to‐pay processes including PO issuance and supplier shipment. Experience in a very high‐growth electronic business is preferred. Education Essential Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related fields.
