Job Title: Special Education Instructor

We are seeking an exceptional educator to join our team as a Special Education Instructor. As part of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality learning experiences for students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum and Instructional Excellence:
    • Plan engaging and well-paced lessons that cater to the diverse learner profiles of students
    • Deliver lessons using evidence-based pedagogy and meaningful activities to meet the educational needs of individual students
    • Facilitate and manage the students and learning environment to enhance motivation and behavior, and opportunities for learning
  • Facilitating Holistic Student Development:
    • Build strong relationships with students, providing physically, emotionally, and socially safe environments for enhancing care and facilitating learning
    • Formulate data-based, student-centered IEP/ITP processes for all students, and support their attainment of IEP/ITP goals through appropriate strategies implemented in partnership with families/caregivers, allied professionals, and other relevant stakeholders
    • Design and implement positive, robust classroom routines and practices to create and maintain a safe and conducive learning environment, and foster student development and well-being
  • Collaboration for Optimal Student Learning and Development:
    • Work in partnership with allied professionals and internal stakeholders for effective planning and execution of development strategies for students
    • Work in partnership with family members to support student learning across school, home, and community
    • Manage communications with families to support students and/or school initiatives
  • Contributing to Programme Development and Quality:
    • Maintain and monitor client records related to programme utilization in accordance with organisational and professional requirements
    • Ensure adherence to health and safety policy, and proper storage and maintenance of equipment for safe use
    • Assist in Continuing Care and Activities (CCAs) to enhance students' learning experiences

Job Holder Requirements:

  • Only Singaporean and Permanent Residents eligible
  • Must have attained Diploma in Special Education (DISE) conferred by NIE
  • Registered teacher with Ministry of Education
  • At least 2 years' experience in a special education setting
