Summary
This position will be supporting the company’s corporate planning, the planning of internal control and governance, compliance, and risk management to maintain adherence to legal standards and internal policies.
Job Responsibilities
Planning of internal control and governance including compliance and risk management related matters.
Setting up and managing the internal framework for implementation and monitoring to conduct the internal regulation and relevant laws/regulations.
Collaboration with relevant departments in HQ and/or external advisers to ensure compliance and risk management.
Manage and update policies and procedures in relation to internal control and governance.
Prepare and submit relevant reports to management and HQ.
Plan, develop, conduct, and facilitate training for employees in relation to internal control and governance matters.
Supervise the consolidation of documents for management and HQ.
Budget control and management.
Management of affiliated company related matters.
Liaison with Japan Headquarters on a daily basis.
Other tasks assigned by management.
Compliance Responsibilities
Monitor compliance with local and international financial regulations.
Coordinate and conduct audits as well as any other controls required under the Information Control framework.
Conduct checks on reports submitted to regulatory bodies.
Demonstrate adaptability and promptness in adjusting to new Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies, processes, and system knowledge.
Perform various legal compliance activities (e.g., KYC, PDCA).
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business administration, or compliance-related disciplines.
At least 5 to 10 years of experience in corporate planning, especially in relation to internal control and governance, compliance roles within the financial services industry.
Experience in performing risk assessments.
Regulatory knowledge (AML/CFT, CRS, PDPA, KYC guidelines, etc.).
Good interpersonal and communication abilities (verbal and written), including presentation skills and effective cross-cultural communication.
Professional Japanese in both speaking and writing to communicate with Japanese in HQ.
Proactive and possess critical thinking skills.
Able to work effectively under pressure in a team environment.
Diligent and firm with high ethical standards.
Able to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
