HSBC Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) is a markets-led, financing-focused business providing investment and financial solutions. Within CIB, Securities Services offers reliable solutions that help clients mitigate risks and improve performance. Our team works with institutional investors, banks, insurance companies, governments, and multinational corporations, covering fund administration, global custody, sub-custody and clearing, as well as corporate trust and loan agency services.

We are currently seeking a high-caliber professional to join as a Senior Vice President, Non-Financial Risk .

Principal Responsibilities

  • Execute the Non-Financial Risk (NFR) control agenda for the Singapore site, including incident support, control assessments, lessons learned, and themed analysis. Monitor management action plans for timely remediation and improvements in the control environment. Support local and regional governance forums, proactively managing risks to enhance Market and Security Services (MSS) Operations control environment. Provide 1st Line of Defense risk advice, challenge, and operational support to manage MSS Operations risks and controls.
  • Co-lead with peers for Singapore and oversee ASEAN as a cluster, ensuring effective governance and control framework management across diverse operations. Support the business in identifying emerging risks and incident trends, enabling proactive responses. Drive risk reduction strategies for MSS Operations in collaboration with business lines and peers.
  • Work closely with MSS Operations Management and NFR teams to maintain a forward-looking risk management function, supporting risk governance forums and initiatives.
  • Deeply engage with operational teams to understand challenges and lead improvements in global processes, ensuring standardization, sustainability, and optimization. Strengthen controls and support HSBC's cost efficiencies, particularly leading controls review for key strategic change programs to minimize transformation risks.
  • Proactively collaborate with 2LoD and 3LoD teams, acting as a key interface to MSS Operations. Support strategy setting and remediation efforts for high-risk findings, ensuring similar risks are proactively mitigated. Influence senior stakeholders and peers, challenge processes and policies, and promote a speak-up culture. Drive strategic outcomes with minimal oversight.
