Job Description & Responsibilities:
As the Front Office Manager, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Maintain a high guest service focus with the guests always in mind.
Drive departmental objectives for self and team, working together to achieve goals.
Take personal responsibility and initiative to resolve issues, communicating clearly with guests and colleagues.
Approach all tasks with enthusiasm, seizing opportunities to learn new skills.
Respond quickly and positively to changing requirements.
Show cooperation and support to colleagues in pursuit of team goals.
Actively promote the services and facilities of hotels to guests and suppliers.
Seek verbal feedback from guests and team members.
Agree on and implement actions to improve guests’ experience.
Deal positively with guest complaints, following up with the Rooms Division/ Front Office Manager.
Respond promptly to guest requests and queries.
Maintain presence in the lobby, setting an example for guest service.
Train team members to be observant and proactive.
Explain standards to the team and train each member individually.
Monitor and assess team members’ performance.
Develop action plans for shortfalls in standards.
Demonstrate positive leadership that inspires team members.
Prepare rosters and job schedules for team members.
Establish effective communication with Housekeeping, groups, and tours.
Delegate duties and authority for the department's operation.
Plan ahead and ensure adequate resources are available.
Coordinate with Housekeeping for cleaning and maintenance procedures.
Ensure shifts are reviewed, and briefings are carried out.
Maintain technical knowledge and skills required for the job.
Maintain guest histories for returning guests.
Participate in regular operational and hotel meetings.
Maximize room revenue and profit through commercial management.
Make decisions regarding overbooking and monitor future bookings.
Communicate the department's role in achieving hotel goals.
Create team member incentives and participate in budget development.
Use key monitors and financial targets to evaluate the department’s performance.
Control and review expenses monthly, following company control procedures.
Manage leave plans and minimize overtime for the department.
Conduct seasonal inventory of operating equipment.
Make effective recruitment decisions based on skills and attitude.
Ensure new team members receive relevant training and orientation.
Develop and implement training plans to meet business needs.
Evaluate training activities and carry out annual appraisals.
Introduce product knowledge courses for team members.
Other Requirements:
Professional Certificate/NITEC in any field
Required language(s): English and one other spoken language
At least 5 years of experience in a related field
Required skills: Opera, Marriott, Hotel, Diligent, trustworthy, articulate
