Senior Maintenance Technician (Electrical)

Overview

Senior Maintenance Technician (Electrical) position with WuXi Biologics. Responsibilities include supporting engineers in project management, reviewing electrical/mechanical/instrumentation systems, identifying risks, and supporting construction, commissioning and maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineer in managing project budgets and timelines
  • Collaborating with other engineers and stakeholders to evaluate project requirements and constraints
  • Assist Engineer in review of mechanical/electrical/instrumentation systems and components
  • Assist Engineer in identifying and mitigating potential risk of the project
  • Support project construction and commissioning of plant equipment and systems through active involvement in punch listing and commissioning activities; discuss equipment improvement and modifications with Supervisor/Engineers.
  • Ensuring on-site compliance with design requirement and safety protocol
  • Assist in input of data and information into operational maintenance document

Operation Phase

  • Perform maintenance activities according to procedures, good engineering practices.
  • Manage and coordinate with Inhouse Contractors and Ad-hoc Contractors on any repairs, maintenance works, site visit and ensuring the quality of work carried out are as per requirement
  • Assist Engineer in planning and implementing continual improvement programs
  • Uphold a safe operating environment and carry out all maintenance activities in compliance with WuXi Biologics' policies, Plant safe work procedures as well as plant inhouse rules, national code and standards
  • Support to develop Preventive Maintenance SOP/Procedures and tasks to maintain plant assets.
  • Complete training provided to build up the competencies.
  • Perform all necessary LOTO activities based on equipment maintenance requirements
  • Perform inspections for the received spare parts and tools.
  • Ensure proper maintenance on workshop tools and safe keeping.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment faults and provide solutions.
  • Able to work on shift
  • Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by supervisor / plant management.

Requirements

  • Diploma/Higher Nitec in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Licensed Electrical Worker Grade 7 (advantage)

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in performing duties equivalent to Maintenance Technician
  • Experience in greenfield projects setup (advantage)

Knowledge, Capability and Accountability

  • Familiarity with and prior hands-on experience with CMMS systems like Maximo or SAP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel). Experience with planning tools such as Microsoft Project will be an advantage.
  • Ability to use AutoCAD for drafting.
  • Must have ability to learn and work effectively with the plant's Distributed Control System (DCS), with the ability to interpret the P&I diagram and process flow diagram.
  • Experience in system walkdown, inspection, testing, calibration, maintenance and repair of process mechanical and control equipment.
