Overview To provide support in the teaching at the Infant and Toddler Centre to meet operational needs. Roles and Responsibilities 1. Curriculum Planning and Implementation Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum with a strong understanding of the Early Years Curriculum and pedagogy. Design activities that cater to the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs of the children. Regularly review and adapt curriculum plans to align with developmental milestones and emerging trends in early childhood education. 2. Learning Environment Set up a conducive and quality learning environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and active learning. Ensure the learning spaces are well-maintained, organized, and equipped with appropriate resources. Provide a safe and clean environment that supports the care and holistic development of the children. 3. Classroom Management Practice effective and respectful classroom management strategies to create a structured and positive atmosphere. Address behavioral challenges with empathy and professionalism. 4. Child Development and Assessment Regularly update children's progress reports and maintain comprehensive portfolios for each child. Provide meaningful insights and recommendations on each child’s development through observations and assessments. Collaborate with parents and specialists, where necessary, to support each child’s developmental goals. 5. Parent and Family Engagement Build trusting and positive relationships with parents through regular, transparent communication. Establish effective home-centre partnerships to support the child’s learning and development. Offer guidance to parents on extending learning activities at home. 6. Child Interaction Foster respectful, trusting, and nurturing interactions with children to build strong educator-child relationships. Model positive behavior and social-emotional skills to promote a supportive learning environment. 7. Team Collaboration Collaborate effectively with colleagues to build a positive and productive working environment. Share resources, strategies, and best practices to enhance team performance. Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities to maintain high teaching standards. 8. Compliance and Professionalism Adhere to regulatory requirements and standards for early childhood care and education. Demonstrate professionalism and commitment to the ethical standards of the teaching profession. Stay updated with advancements in early childhood education through continuous learning and reflection. Qualifications and Skills Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (or equivalent) and/or Advanced Certificate in Early Years (ACEY)Candidates who are currently undergoing HCIC/ACEY are welcome to apply Passionate working with young children and fostering their development. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Willing to work in Tanjong Pagar/Whampoa.
