What We Are Looking For
Silicon Labs is seeking an experienced validation engineer to join the IoT MCU Validation team. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented system-level engineer with a solid understanding of low power MCU architectures, including digital and analog/RF aspects. The position also requires proficiency in Python scripting and firmware development, experience in board-level hardware design, and familiarity with test instrumentation, measurement techniques, and test automation.
Skills You’ll Need
Test case specification, architecture definition, and implementation
Test data management, analysis, and presentation
Participate in debug sessions and provide measurement data for root cause analysis
Develop infrastructure for automated silicon characterization platforms, including hardware, device/instrument drivers, software toolchains, frameworks, libraries, and databases
FPGA prototyping and pre-silicon validation
Develop and refine work processes for efficiency and high product quality
Recruit and mentor junior engineers and interns
Participate in cross-functional technical reviews
Serve as technical lead for selected projects
Partner and customer interaction
Required Experience & Skills
B.S. or M.Sc. in Electrical or Computer Engineering
Proven software development and architecture skills (Python, C#, or similar)
Proven firmware development skills (C and/or assembly language)
Strong analog and digital circuit analysis skills
Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
Extensive hands-on experience with test and measurement equipment and techniques
Working knowledge of ARM/8051 architectures and typical MCU peripherals
Self-starter with a strong work ethic and accountability
Experience with schematic capture and layout tools (Allegro, Altium, PADS)
Exposure to security standards and testing
Methodical, thorough, and dedicated to quality
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Entrepreneurial mindset and problem-solving ability
