Verification & Validation Engineer

Overview
The Diagnostics Product Team develops products which meet the needs of patients who want to determine if they have sleep disorders such as sleep apnea or those who want to monitor their health while being treated. The team’s output includes sensor technology, processing algorithms, and low energy, battery powered, wirelessly connected devices. It interacts with other product teams such as mobile apps, server software and therapeutic device teams. This is a fast-growing area of ResMed’s ecosystem with opportunities to directly benefit millions of patients.
The Role
The primary role of the Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineering function within the Product Development team is to verify and validate the end-to-end system and design of all new products as part of product development prior to product release. Joining ResMed’s Verification & Validation team provides access to industry-leading technology and knowledge as you work on new and upcoming products that make an impact on the lives of patients. You will collaborate with multiple engineering teams and disciplines, leveraging your system knowledge to develop comprehensive testing methodologies, including automated tests, that rigorously challenge the product design to ensure the best outcome for users. You will have opportunities to design new test rigs, digital tools, and to develop initiatives that improve how the team operates. The role entails collaborating across product development teams to ensure the design meets technical requirements as well as customer needs. You will be responsible for developing and implementing test methodologies and automating tests to enable faster design iteration.
Responsibilities Include
Working with Product teams in the early phases of development planning and performing Exploratory testing.
Developing protocols that effectively test the design requirements and sufficiently challenge the product design and architecture.
Performing testing and data analysis independently.
Reviewing and challenging system requirements for scope, risk and suitability.
Initiating and driving requirements on automation and test instrumentation.
Identifying and investigating root causes of test anomalies and failures.
Supporting regulatory activities, such as audits and FDA responses.
Collaborating effectively and promoting knowledge and skills sharing.
Maintaining technical skills and awareness of technical innovations.
Communicating effectively with peers, stakeholders and supervisors.

Experience And Qualifications
Bachelor of Engineering or Science
Related work or study experience is advantageous, particularly in the medical device field
Interest and/or experience in robotics and CAD design
