Investment Analyst

Paeonia Group is a Singapore-based family office and an investment holding company. It directly manages wholly-owned companies in the US and Asia with decades of operating history in global markets.
Apart from its operating businesses, Paeonia Group invests globally through its investment arm, Paeonia Capital, across a diverse range of asset classes including equities, fixed income, hedge funds, real estate, venture capital/private equity funds and direct investments.
The Deep-Tech Investment Analyst will be an integral member of Paeonia Group, responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing investments in deep-technology sectors. The successful candidate will leverage their domain expertise to perform thorough technical and commercial due diligence on opportunities involving photonics, quantum computing, advanced materials, semiconductors, and related high-impact technology fields.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Investment Activities
Originate, analyze, and recommend direct and fund investment opportunities in deep-tech sectors, especially in photonics, quantum computing, and advanced physics-based innovations.
Perform comprehensive technical, market, and financial due diligence, including in-depth analysis of novel technologies and intellectual property.
Prepare clear, concise investment memos and present findings to senior management and the investment committee.
Track industry trends, maintain a pipeline of promising startups and emerging technologies, and build relationships with industry experts, academic partners, and other investors.
Assist in post-investment portfolio management, monitoring company performance and supporting value creation initiatives.
Represent Paeonia Group at industry events, conferences, and with portfolio companies.
Collaborate cross-functionally with operating businesses and internal teams to drive investment strategy.
Operational Activities
Prepare, edit, and design professional presentations (slide decks) for internal and external stakeholders.
Accurately record, draft, and distribute meeting minutes, ensuring follow-up on action items.
Assist in drafting, formatting, and finalizing internal reports, memos, and investment documentation.
Coordinate meetings and calls, manage scheduling, logistics, and materials preparation.
Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's or Master's degree from a top-tier university, preferably in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Photonics, Quantum Computing & AI, or a related field.
At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in research, product development, investing, consulting, or industry roles related to deep-tech sectors (e.g., quantum technologies, photonics, AI, advanced semiconductors, materials science).
Demonstrable knowledge of commercial and technical aspects of deep-tech markets; prior exposure to technology commercialization or venture investing is highly valued.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and financial modelling skills, with keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to translate complex technical insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Strong teamwork orientation with the initiative to work independently in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
High integrity, professionalism, and a genuine passion for technology and innovation.
